Festival of Romance

I’ve been meaning to blog about the upcoming Festival of Romance for ages, but my workload has been frantic (to say the least), so there hasn’t been time until now.  Organiser Kate Allan had the great idea of a festival for readers of all types of romance along the lines of those held in the US, which seemed brilliant to me.   I have always wanted to go to one of those, so to have one here in the UK is perfect!

It’s being held at Hunton Park, near Watford, and takes place on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd October.  I’ll be taking part in a panel talk and a chocolate tasting (which I’m very much looking forward to!), and also in a ‘historical fashion show’, where I’ll be wearing my kimono (see photo).  I’ll have to try and figure out how to tie the belt (obi) before then, but hopefully it won’t be that hard.

The Festival of Romance also includes some awards and today I had the great news that The Scarlet Kimono has been shortlisted for the Historical Read award!  I’m in great company, since two of my fellow Choc Lit authors are shortlisted in another category, and several of my friends from the RNA as well.  It’s going to be great fun!

If you’re a reader and you love romance, then please come and join us!  Click here for more details.
